THE WESTALL UFO SIGHTING, MELBOURNE, 1966 (RATING 8/10)

In the southern suburb of Westall in Melbourne in April 1966, students and teaching staff at two schools declared a sighting of an unexplained silver-grey flying saucer manoeuvring about the sky. The object then descended behind a small patch of nearby pine trees. Known as ‘Australia’s Roswell,’ these witness testimonies augment its value. Highly respected researcher Shane Ryan, expressed his interest in the case noting, “The volume of witnesses and detailed testimonies makes the Westall case an outstanding event.”

THE FREDERICK VALENTICH DISAPPEARANCE, BASS STRAIT, 1978 (RATING 9/10)

Young pilot, Frederick Valentich, set off on a solo flight over Bass Strait and reported over the radio encountering an unknown aircraft circling him. Expressing concern on the radio transmission, he was quoted saying, “That strange aircraft is hovering on top of me. It is not an aircraft.” Valentich and his plane thereafter, disappeared without a trace. Despite extensive search missions, no evidence has ever been found intensifying the mystery surrounding the story.

THE KNOWLES FAMILY ENCOUNTER, NULLARBOR PLAIN, 1988 (RATING 7/10)

On a seemingly ordinary drive across the barren Nullarbor Plain in January 1988, the Knowles family tells of an eerie light that tailgated their car before lifting it from the ground. Mother, Faye Knowles, choking back fear recounted the horrifying event. She said, “We know what we saw, and it can’t be explained as anything other than an alien encounter.”

THE TULLY SAUCER NEST, QUEENSLAND, 1966 (RATING 7/10)

In January 1966, a young sugar cane farmer George Pedley claimed behold a saucer-shaped object take flight from a swamp leaving behind a near-perfect circular patch of flattened and twisted reeds on the water surface. Pedley was on record saying, “I am certain the saucer was an extraterrestrial craft as it defied all law of physics.”

THE TINGHA GREEN LIGHT, NEW SOUTH WALES, 1973 (RATING 6/10)

Countless witnesses reported viewing an unusual green light descending over Tingha, a small rural town in northern New South Wales in 1973. Bill Chalker, one of Australia’s leading UFO researchers stated, “The Tingha event’s power lies in the consistency of stories from different eye-witnesses.”

THE CLAYTON SOUTH ALIEN SIGHTING, MELBOURNE, 1963 (RATING 5/10)

Young teenager Ronald Sullivan reported meeting with two four-foot-tall extraterrestrials near a spaceship located on a local cricket field. Despite critics and skeptics attempting to debunk his claims, Sullivan maintained a consistent story: “I stood there, eyes wide, merely a stone’s throw away from them.”

THE KELLY CAHILL ABDUCTION, MOUNT DANDENONG, 1993 (RATING 9/10)

In an encounter that chills the bone, Kelly Cahill of Melbourne narrates her abduction by mysterious tall, dark figures while driving home. Supporting her claims were undecipherable symbols that appeared engraved on her body. Speaking of her ordeal, Cahill stated, “I’m certain about what happened to me. This wasn’t a figment of my imagination.”

THE SEA FURY INCIDENT, NEW SOUTH WALES COAST, 1954 (RATING 8/10)

In August 1954, radar operators at the RAAF detected an unidentified object moving at high speed near Richmond, New South Wales. It chased Lieutenant J.A. O’Farrell’s De Havilland Sea Fury aircraft. Unfathomable till date, Lieutenant O’Farrell relayed, “I’ve never seen anything move so fast. I can’t explain what it was.”

THE GUNDIAH-MACKAY ABDUCTION, QUEENSLAND, 2001 (RATING 8/10)

A chilling account comes from Queenslander Amy Rylance, who claims to have been abducted by an unseen force in a beam of light. Amy showed physical signs of ageing faster than humanly normal. Her husband Keith exclaimed, “It’s hard to believe, but I saw it with my own eyes… Amy was lifted by something.”

THE BURKES FLAT UFO AND BENT-HEADLIGHT BEAMS, VICTORIA, 1966 (RATING 6/10)

Ron Sullivan’s encounter involved seeing a top-shaped purple UFO near Burkes Flat which mysteriously made the beams of his car headlight bend at will. Speaking about the incident, Sullivan said, “I now feel there is more to life than we understand. The headlight beams bending was just unexplainable.”
